    Rolling Stones Quote

    2012 - 06.30

“And if you take more of those, you will get an overdose.

What a drag it is , getting old.”

    – Mothers Little Helper (Jagger, Richards)

    A Sam Gold Quote

    2012 - 06.30

“Sometimes the unreal is required to see the real.”

    Surf Report

    2012 - 06.30

Waves are incongruous,  slapping at my board

Sliding on the surface of desolation

California Dreamland, sure went out in style.

    Looking toward better conditions

I lay on my board and paddled.

Onto the top of the next wave.

Now I use the skills that made me old

Try to do the next thing

    And be just as bold.

I met myself in the reflection the water

And tried to outrun my shadow in the waves.

    However futile the concept

Your mind will still wrap around it.

Floating with the birds awaiting the next wave….

Thank God! It is still such a rush.

    I want to hear Laughter

    2012 - 06.13

    I want to hear laughter

    No more pain

    Want to hear laughter

    In the pouring rain.

    Want to see children

    jumping in sidewalk puddles

    If I was young

    I would join on in.

I want to smile at the rain drops

    And listen to them dance

    It can soothe your soul

If you give it a chance.

    Sometimes at night

    I hear the raindrops fall

    Helps me sleep happy

    With the dreams that last.

    I remember the wisdom

Whispering in the drops that fell.

    Then there is silence

    And all is well.

Just one more cup of Coffee

    2012 - 06.07

Woke up this morning feeling bad

I am losing the best friend I ever had

She has to go that I know

Don’t mind these tears that I let show.

Just one more cup of coffee

Just one more before I go

Just one more cup of coffee

    Before I hit the road

Time flies in the world of love

What are you, a hawk or a dove?

What are you looking for in this dark place?

Where love has left a little trace.

Just one more cup of coffee

Just one more before I go

Just one more cup of coffee

    Before I hit the road.

Shield your eyes of the reality

Nothin’ you got was really free

Love will take you, make you feel true

And then love will break you and leave you blue.

Just one more cup of coffee

Just one more before I go

Just one more cup of coffee

    Before I hit the road.

Every day I think of Love

Forged in the fire of Heaven above

And strongly feel the sensation sink

I want to have just another drink.

Just one more cup of coffee

Just one more before I go

Just one more cup of coffee

    Before I hit the road.

    Cowboy  Sam had some plans

Some say his will made him a dangerous man

But His will was broken on the wheel of life

Everyday he wakes to an eternal strife.

Just one more cup of coffee

Just one more before I go

Just one more cup of coffee

    Before I hit the road.

Life let’s you make plans than leaves them tattered

What did you do anyway that really mattered?

The circle comes round with the brass ring

Reach out and grab it or it doesn’t mean a thing.

Just one more cup of coffee

Just one more before I go

Just one more cup of coffee

    Before I hit the road.

Time is so busy kicking my face

Stomping on the hands that held the rope in place

But you’re a survivor and you know

What it takes to be in this show.

Just one more cup of coffee

Just one more before I go

Just one more cup of coffee

    Before I hit the road.

    Blue Evening

    2012 - 06.04

I sat in the doorway just for the air

Thinkin’ of you coming up the stairs

Your eyes wide open and a smile

That stretched clean outa’ here for many a mile

This is the way that I think of you

Anything but a woman whose Blue.

We both know it isn’t fair

Life deals you cards too heavy to bear

One thing I always admired about you

Your vision was clear and to it you’re true.

I have always thought of you as half of my sky

I held the other half and together we tried.

Now we both know of this thing called Death

It’s much to close, feel its breathe.

But that doesn’t mean it’s coming for you

But I’d step aside, let it do what it must do.

Finding the strength to just keep up

Take a drink from the eternal cup.

Every day I put you in my prayers

Even though you’re not even here.

    Everyday, my only smile

Is when I think of you, free of your trials.

You still somehow make me see

That any day now I shall be free.

Together forever this is our song

And it goes so far, seems so long

I look to a future that we both will see

You will find your health, then come for me.

Until that day I hang on so long

Knowing that God helps those who are strong.
